Everyone is out here building things on top of git, which is a relic of the past. I think it’s time for something new.

@jezell True -- git was really designed for linux kernel development. A new git might be a cloud-native document database with branching semantics where version control is a property of the storage layer, not a separate tool you bolt on top.

non text files, cloud native storage, building something that should be trivial like github on top of it is a huge undertaking and requires storing tons of data outside of git, in custom databases, etc. as a result of mostly just working around the fact that git wasn't designed to be used the way everyone uses it.

Dang, exhausted Ultra for the day. I've never exhausted the ChatGPT Pro plan, so there's significantly lower limits on the Gemini AI Ultra plan vs ChatGPT Pro.

Harmony OS team for example wants great support for Flutter, but they have been unsuccessful attempting to get anyone at Google to work with them on making sure that happens, so they called me instead. Team can say they are responsive all they want, but when OS vendors are reaching out to me instead of Google there is clearly a big freaking problem with the Flutter team.
