It feels like the nerds had steered the game the wrong way. Launch angles, exit velocity, shifts for every situation, everything run by spreadsheets….no longer the game I used to watch

@gcourtin We have definitely veered far into the weeds, haven't we? I am very glad to see the shift rules added. I think larger bases will reduce injuries and maybe even increase stolen base attempts (esp when combined with only 3 throws to 1st) - which I like.

I think it had become so painful….a game in July that takes 3 hours because the pitcher takes over a minute to throw a pitch in the 4th inning…gross. Post season…different story. Let’s see how it goes as the real season starts.

IDK, @gcourtin. I thought I'd like the pitch clock, but I now realize I enjoyed the "excruciating" time to contemplate each pitch, decision to throw over, etc. Maybe I'm just old (school), but thus far I am not thrilled. Especially in the postseason. Is it just me?
