Tarpaulins were distributed by the Circle Officer, Katigorah Revenue Circle and Field Officer to families whose houses were fully/severely damaged due to the cyclonic storm that occurred this afternoon under Katigorah Revenue Circle.

All the relief teams are fighting all odds to clear blocked roads, restore  power supply and making sure that residents are safe.

Rongpur and Malugram areas are severely affected and restoration of power supply in these areas may take a bit longer and the rest of the city is almost back to normalcy.

Emergency crews from the SDRF, CQRT, DDRF and APDCL have been working non-stop through the night to restore public services, with Circle Officer, Silchar Sadar on the ground supervising the operation.

Circle Officers on the ground are supervising restoration works as SDRF teams along with CQRT and SDRF have engaged in clearing the roads. APDCL team is also on its toes to normalise electric supply. People are requested not to panic.

In the wake of the cyclonic storm that hit parts of Cachar, the District Administration, Cachar has fanned out it's men and materials for the fast restoration of normalcy including traffic movements in the affected places.

Residents are urged to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel until operations are complete. Stay safe.

No severe damage has yet been reported from the Sonai, Lakhipur and Udharbond Circle areas. Damage assessment is ongoing across the district. Updates are awaited and will be shared in due course.

Following a cyclonic storm this afternoon, several villages under the Katigorah Revenue Circle of Cachar district have reported damage of homes; assessments are currently underway.

Form 17-A and other key documents were reviewed to ensure the election process remains fair and transparent. Candidates and their representatives were also invited to witness the scrutiny process.

🗳️ Polling concluded. The EVMs from all LACs have been sealed in strong rooms, in the presence of contesting candidates or their representatives. Following this, a post-election review meeting was held at ISBT, Ramnagar, Silchar, attended by Hon’ble Election Observers.
