There are a large amount of people who got immeasurably lucky and didn't catch it all, or at the least didn't lose a family member, while getting government checks and dicking around for a year, and then there is everyone else.

That works out to 11.4 grams a day, which is less meat than most people put in a single taco. A Green party rep explained the logic: the elderly "have been the biggest climate sinners throughout their lives." So the plan is apparently to make them atone for it in their final years, one thimble of mince at a time. Critics, including opposition parties and elderly advocates, say the policy risks undernutrition in a population already vulnerable to it. I've more or less moved on and adjusted from working as a nurse during covid but it's very funny seeing people who were retail or tech workers or unemployed neets doing a "oh no my heckin trauma" over the idea of another quarantine. You had 6 years to adapt, what's your excuse?

Now we are seeing people who don't continue to mask, who weren't even healthcare workers during covid, complaining about how they "can't do another one".

@CorpoSacrifice @makakiavelli2 Socially, Australians seem pretty close to Americans so that's not too surprising but it was so, so bad here. I was a CNA and I stopped wearing my scrubs before/after work cause people would approach me on the street and scream that I was killing people with vaccines.
