@redncval fr. You can still hear my accent after 10+ yrs of learning English and an actor is supposed to sound native after a couple month of training? Maybe it worked when the shows weren't shown internationally and maybe 5% of audience understood French, but not now

@depresstat yes it’s so strange! if they want the character to speak the language so badly why not cast someone who speaks the language? it’s so much work for an actor who doesn’t and it rarely pays off because someone isn’t going to sound native with a tiny bit of training

idk why it has to keep being said but the shows themselves, iwtv and hr are quite incomparable. one is intended for people who enjoy gothic horror romances, exploring very dark themes. intended for a more niche audience. the other is a sports romance. it’s palatable for everyone.

Someone please tell me that Lestat aimed at least part of that “Pretending you actually love me again, again & again & again” at “Louis”!!
