The UTXO (Unspent Transaction Output) model is often considered preferable to the account-based model in blockchain systems due to several key advantages: 1. Enhanced Privacy In UTXO-based blockchains, transactions create new outputs and use different wallet addresses for each transaction, making it harder to trace or link transactions to specific individuals. This contrasts with account-based blockchains, where a single account balance is visible and linked to the user. 2. Scalability and Parallelization UTXO-based systems naturally support parallel transaction processing because unrelated UTXOs can be validated simultaneously. This increases efficiency and throughput, making it suitable for high-demand environments. Account-based systems process transactions sequentially, limiting scalability. 3. Deterministic Transactions UTXO transactions are deterministic, meaning they reference specific outputs from previous transactions, ensuring predictable behavior. Account-based models can introduce non-determinism, especially when dealing with smart contracts that depend on the current state of accounts. 4. Security UTXOs are immutable once created and can only be spent once, reducing the risk of double-spending or state manipulation compared to account-based systems that rely on global state updates. Verus shares the Bitcoin philosophy, with cryptographic security as a foundational element of the system. Verus builds on bitcoin, expanding the system beyond payment and into other blockchain primitives such as privacy, finance, identification, data, and interoperability with other decentralized and centralized systems. Verus includes these elements at the protocol level. Still, like bitcoin, Verus uses the UTXO accounting method as opposed to an account-based accounting method, an important benefit of which is that transactions (eg. defi) can be trivially verified in parallel. The philosophy of this structure is to provide a foundation to build global distributed systems and applications. It is also the basis to reconstruct computer usage in the AI era. This philosophy is quite different from Ethereum and its imitators, which have created very basic blockchain structures as the foundation, with languages running on top that create a sequential computer, in order to provide a basis for applications (where finance, privacy, sovereignty, data and interoperability are intended to be provided by arbitrary applications developers). Verus is convinced that blockchain/application structures of this type are fundamentally difficult to secure and scale. For example, the blockchain doesn’t understand the finance on top of it and so fees can create perverse incentives thus creating security problems. Simply put, the application layer conflicts with the consensus layer. Furthermore it encourages MEV (maximal exploitable value) which is little more than front running, back running (and sandwich attacks) or more plainly stated “Market Abuse”. Verus resolves this too by innovating intrablock“ simultaneous solving” which means there is no front or back to each block. Verus approaches blockchain transaction management using a privacy-focused and scalable framework built on the UTXO model, enhanced with innovative features.

Let’s do some numbers: Currently in the reserves of nati🦉 ~500K VRSC which gives a price of $VRSC at ~$19. To reach the current price of $1.93 it will need around 5M VRSC in its reserves (more than 7% of total supply). So, who here thinks that much will be dumped into the basket? 💎🤲

Someone just made a currency basket (ending preconversion 23 sept) that has 150 $BTC and 3999 $ETH in its reserves. It would need ALOT of $VRSC to reach this price level. Make your own conclusions
