I’ve spent time with Gabby Giffords privately and this is not only inaccurate, it’s deeply offensive to a woman who has gone through hell. Gabby has struggled with aphasia since the assassination attempt, and I saw her get frustrated with it as she tried to verbally express her thoughts, but she has made remarkable progress in recent years. But her aphasia does not impact her ability to think, reason, and comprehend complex matters.

Women don’t owe the world children. They don’t owe men babies. And they don’t owe you an explanation.
