We can’t always control the amount of time we have or how much is in our department or school budget, but we can choose to seek out the good in others instead of allowing ourselves to be hardened by the difficult parts of the job.

Learning about story structure can be fun!! Problem, solution, response. Students answer the question: “How do I write a response to a problem in a story?”

Have a student you're struggling with? Try the 'two-by-ten' strategy: For two minutes each day, 10 days in a row, have a personal conversation with the #student about anything the student is interested in. Wonderful idea by Raymond Wlodkowski

We can’t control the environment our #students were in prior to coming to school. We can, however, control the environment they experience once they arrive to #school.

That kid you see every morning in the hall who you say ‘good morning’ to but yet never looks up or responds. Keep trying... you may never get a response, but they know you notice them & that reassurance at the start of their day can be huge.

Yes, You Can Find Time for Independent Reading via @ASCD bit.ly/2uLGH3T "The way you find out about the power of independent reading is to do it. Trust yourselves. Trust children. Trust books. Once you do, you'll never go back. And your kids will be forever grateful."

One Teacher's negative attitude can impact an entire school. Everyone needs to be on board, move the same direction, and be more about WE than ME! #teamwork #getoveryourself

Each student deserves a teacher who will allow them to start anew & fresh each & every day. A clean slate is something we all deserve. #edchat #education
