Tel Aviv tonight: over calling for a hostage deal and for the government to resign. Polls show most Israelis are in favor of stopping the war. The government won't let that happen.

My partner and I don't co-mingle money. Never have, and likely never will. 7 years into our relationship, not a single disagreement or argument about money. When we joined households, there was a discussion about who pays for what and what contingency plans we have in place; beyond that, there is total freedom and independence, and of course, financial responsibility. He has his own investment accounts and properties. I have my own investment accounts and properties. I don't need to seek permission to spend my money. He doesn't need permission to spend his money. He owns and manages his practice. I own and manage my brokerage. We split vacations. We take turns paying for dinners. We never really tally any other expenses. Most importantly, we are mindful not to burden each other with too much overhead, debt, bad habits, etc. The financial autonomy we have is rare, and yes, it requires two incomes, but I really do think more couples would benefit from this style of money management.
