One thing I’ve learned in my spiritual journey is that the Ancestors always jump at the chance to show you better and put you in the position to receive it. They’ll allow you to be content with the past but won’t ever hesitate to elevate you or your circumstances.

i actually think “surface-level” friendships are very healthy. not everyone in your life has to be your ride-or-die. some friends are for the gym. some friends are for church. some are just for complaining about work or bureaucracy. when you stop expecting everyone to be your everything, the disappointment disappears. the deep conversations are for the 2–3 people closest to you.

The amount of detail that God put into everything is amazing.

Frieren had already explained why she sleeps so soundly, without a care in the world. It’s because she trusts Stark with her life. Even during her first journey, her entire party consisted of men who were a bunch of goofballs, yet they always had her back, even in her sleep. Because of that, she could sleep as much as she wanted. She became spoiled in that way, constantly adored and protected by those around her. Fern, however, doesn’t feel the same way. She’s not Frieren. It’s not that she doesn’t trust Stark with her life, she does, but magic has always been the one thing that made her feel truly reliable and strong. Suddenly being unable to sense her magic must feel deeply unsettling and new to her. Still, I love how Stark looked at her and simply said, “I’m here.” It was quite romantic.
