@ryanmouquegolf @Top100Rick Why? If the guy can often chip in at the club he normally plays, why should he care that he can't do that at Augusta? Its like telling a runner 'yeah but you wouldn't run as fast at 3,000m'. Umm, ok. I think it's more about putting people down and asserting superiority.

@easybezz @Top100Rick It’s having the awareness that there are levels to the game Being open to the fact that you can still improve your short game much more than where ur currently at. Developing new shots, etc

@ryanmouquegolf @Top100Rick But why would someone who has no chance to play at Augusta or a private club care about that, if they can't practice at those places.

When I hear golfers say “my short game is pretty good” I think ok…. It’s good at the golf course you play… But it’s not “good”… I doesn’t travel There are levels to short game. There’s muni short game, private golf club short game, Melbourne sandbelt short game, Augusta short game

Watch this chip from Justin Rose. What makes Augusta so amazing is shots like this. No rough. Perfect lie. Nothing to go over. And yet most mortals would be 20 feet short or in the water. This is impossible to get close. Full commitment.

Both America and the Middle East would have been better off if Israel had never been created — the country has been a drag on US foreign policy since the 50s — but what's done is done, it's nearly 80 years on, and as much as it sucks for the Palestinians, they lost, Israel exists, and the sooner the Palestinians resign themselves to these painful facts and move on, the better for everyone.

@Huxx777 No, I think the outage is that a group that had been less than 3% of the population a hundred years before thought they had a right to an independent state in that same area.

Maybe Muslim countries (including my own, Yemen) should stop firing missiles at Israel, and then crying when Israel fires back?

@History__Speaks Immoral war? You're a laughing stock if you invoke morality when it comes to the mullahs regime. Fuck you and your moral invoking TDS.

I think this may become the case study I use to explain to students the difference between strategic and tactical victory. in war (Right now I use Afghanistan and Vietnam; ratio of soldiers killed is far more dramatic here.) The Iranians did massive damage to US assets in the GCC. It's not just measured by body count. Though of course US/Israel had astronomically more tactical successes, Hormuz/US domestic politics/the fact that this was obviously a dumb and immoral war that meant nothing to US interests, meant we couldn't bear the cost.
Arthur Schopenhauer@ArthurSchopenh7

@History__Speaks I remember Karlin recently saying that the US was clearly winning the war since they had killed 3000 Iranians while only 15 Americans had been killed…

@Noahpinion You ought to write a substack article about it. I'd be very interested to read how we could have a "less close relationship" that doesn't jeopardize the existence of Israel but that also doesn't give them the unchecked power that brings so much harm to their neighbors.

Should a minority community's right to be in America depend on their willingness to converge with the cultural mainstream? No, it shouldn't depend on that. It shouldn't depend on anything. We're all Americans, after all.

@Noahpinion Like you don't have to let the world know what you think every 5 minutes of the day. Take time to think and write something thoughtful once a month - the world will think better of you.

@easybezz @kamilkazani i didn’t try to untangle kamil’s text becoz it’s corporeal and neatly structured for my perusal. i’d never dare undermine a peer interlocutor of being unable to do so… i was tryna call out your eristic sophistry and ad hominem since your argumentation was… well, not an argument

Hint: In the future, you should probably not vote for any politician that did not actively & vigorously oppose this war. The lack of active & vigorous opposition is a proof that this person should never be in a position of power

@Matt2Frosty I promised myself decades ago that I'll never step foot on the property until I do so as a player. I've been invited to the Masters (kindly!) several times and have painfully declined, including this year I'm a golfer, I'll always choose the round (though I am a huge fan too)

My buddy and I have had an interesting conversation this morning. Curious the masses thoughts! Would you rather: Play Augusta National one time. All the bells and whistles included. or Have lifetime passes to every single round of The Master’s until you pass away
