there's probably a middleground somewhere between "community is a distraction for otaku and you do not need it" and "reading a lot of works is a waste of time because you dont remember it anyway". will the posters of the everything app be able to find it?

No offence, but retaining plot and lore details of something is not actually important. Like at all. Art is about how it emotionally resonates with you, it makes you feel things. The idea that you need to partake in social rituals and play memory games is odd!

@WDEHMBro We aren't talking about critics analyzing things, though. We're talking about the average person allowing art to make them feel things, in which case you do not need to maintain encyclopedic knowledge or remember specifics for longer than a year. Not a difficult concept.
