It really really is messed up. Public figures should have the LEAST right to publish illegal and TOS-violating content b/c it spreads the farthest and fastest.

Unvaccinated Covid patients were the reason I had to wait 3 days to get my gallbladder removed even though it was an emergency. My doctor spent those 3 days calling hospital after hospital desperately trying to get me in. I was in the worst pain of my life. Get fucking vaccinated

Someone told me awhile ago that we'd have a national open access law when open access has its 9/11. I was thinking this morning about the Gilead patent on remdesivir, and I got to thinking that this moment in history might be open access 9/11.

A weird thing about patriotic songs is that they always have a part where the guy looks all angry and accusatory at the flag. If I were the flag I'd be like "I thought we were friends. :("

@elliotharmon Ah well I was in the MA program - Visual & Critical Studies where we were toughing it out with Homi Bhabha, Fanon, Butler, et al. I took poetry as electives :)

@MsKatieKurtz I didn't know if you were familiar with Trow or not. But I'd fancifully describe his whole oeuvre as speculative nonfiction. It's nonfiction by definition, but it's also playing with signifiers in a way that feels very scifi-ey to me. This book in particular.

@danielnazer An early boss of mine in the nonprofit sector made a big point of things like "congratulations" instead of "thank you." For me, that's morphed into things like "you should be proud."
