"We can see the Moon out of the docking hatch right now. It's a beautiful sight." Flight day 3 is in the books, and our @NASAArtemis II crew is now closer to the Moon than to Earth. Check out highlights from our lunar mission. What’s been your favorite moment so far?

Contrary to popular opinion and according to this randomised trial, drinking caffeinated coffee actually reduces the risk of AF. What does this mean? 1. No need to ask patients with AF to convert to decaf. 2. Coffee and its polyphenols benefit the cardiovascular system and the liver. 3. 1-2 cups per day seem to be the sweet spot. 📸: jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/…

That is the way to go: When your net worth is $195B combined, but the real flex is ringing the golden bell at Kkanbu Chicken. Nvidia’s Huang, Samsung’s Lee & Hyundai’s Chung just turned chimaek into a $5T power move, and paid for everyone’s meal. edition.cnn.com/2025/10/31/tec…

The 2025 laureates in economic sciences Philippe Aghion and Peter Howitt studied the mechanisms behind sustained growth. In an article from 1992, they constructed a mathematical model for what is called creative destruction: when a new and better product enters the market, the companies selling the older products lose out. The innovation represents something new and is thus creative. However, it is also destructive, as the company whose technology becomes passé is outcompeted. Aghion and Howitt’s model shows that there are strong forces pulling in different directions as regards investment in research and development (R&D) and thus economic growth. Depending on factors such as the market and period of time, the need to subside R&D may vary. #NobelPrize

✅✅ A reminder by Dr. Rahaf Ajaj: She wasn’t on the Stanford list… but she made it to the Nobel stage. 🏅 Mary E. Brunkow, one of this year’s Nobel Prize winners in Medicine, has only 34 published papers and an H-index of 21. She never appeared in Stanford’s ranking of the world’s top 2% of scientists. She didn’t chase citations, metrics, or the spotlight. Yet, she became part of a discovery that changed how humanity understands the immune system. Today, while many are busy chasing numbers, titles, and rankings — she reminds us what truly matters in science: the question. 🔹 She wasn’t running after the lists. 🔹 She was running after the truth. Because in the end, it’s not about how many papers you publish… It’s about how deeply your idea can reshape the world. Focus on your idea, not your ranking.

Our immune system is an evolutionary masterpiece. Every day it protects us from the thousands of different viruses, bacteria and other microbes that attempt to invade our bodies. Without a functioning immune system, we would not survive. One of the immune system’s marvels is its ability to identify pathogens and differentiate them from the body’s own cells. The microbes that threaten our health do not wear a uniform – they all have different appearances. Many have also developed similarities to human cells, as a form of camouflage. So how does the immune system keep track of what to attack and what to protect? Why doesn’t the immune system attack our bodies more frequently? Researchers long believed they knew the answer to these questions: that immune cells mature through a process called central immune tolerance (see image). However, our immune system turned out to be more complex than they believed. Mary Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi have been awarded the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their discoveries concerning peripheral immune tolerance.
