juneteenth is labor day in Trinidad. we're also the first to have a holiday recognizing emancipation. things overlap, it happens. Haití was the first to abolish slavery, and Brazil was the last in the Americas. we're all part of the same spectrum of black liberation babes.

@battymamzelle Many of our histories intersect, that’s true. But Juneteenth will always be about liberation for African Americans, not the diaspora. We literally have our own days for that.
