They’re training AI at the same time Yep—while you’re clicking, you’re helping improve computer vision models (like identifying traffic lights, buses, crosswalks). So it’s not just verification; it’s free data labeling. 4. Your behavior affects difficulty If something about your browsing looks “bot-like” (VPNs, fast clicks, no cookies, weird patterns), the system gives you harder challenges. That’s why sometimes it’s just “click the checkbox,” and other times it’s a full-time job. 5. Humans hate repetitive micro-tasks It’s the worst kind of friction: tiny, boring, and interrupting what you actually want to do. Psychologically, it feels way more annoying than it objectively is. ___________________________ Ironically: The better AI gets at recognizing traffic lights… the harder these tests have to become for humans.
