The only instance I vividly remember of cricket fans turning into football level fans was during the 2024 IPL. Rohit fans giving Hardik Pandya the Figo treatment, booing him everywhere coz of betrayal. Only instance where I saw football level passion among a cricket crowd.

@ReignofDhoni I’ve watched the FIFA World Cup. Amazing event. But let’s not pretend cricket is spending taxpayer money. The BCCI generates its own revenue through broadcasting, sponsorships, and leagues. If anything, cricket proved that an Indian sport can build world-class infrastructure

Had cricket not been held back for decades by its colonial roots, elitist image, and limited global exposure, it would have challenged football's dominance long ago. Skill, strategy, and drama — cricket has it all. Now, with T20 taking over and driving the sport's growth into new markets, it's only a matter of time before cricket begins closing the gap on football's global popularity. Maybe in 20–30 years. @krishnamanoipss The biggest reason by India is never been qualified is not bureaucracy on not players. It’s the fans the football fans of India hate cricket in by some reason I like European football more than they wanted to adapt European football to India. Meanwhile, we left our roots.
