So nice to have sunshine for our Sustainable Development trips this week! One grp went to an organic farm to learn about biodiversity & seed sowing The other grp visited a local wind farm; got to look inside, learn how they work and admire the view @Education_Ire @oide_Ireland

Today in our sustainability project we discussed waste and recycling. Then the Ss used @makeymakey and Scratch to make an animated story Putting rubbish in the bin closed the circuit and finished the story @GreenSchoolsIre @OidePrimarySTEM

Over the past few weeks I've been working with a cluster of 3 schools using Microbits for Wellbeing We're now building and programming a virtual tamagotchi pet I absolutely adore this part 😻 @EngineerIreland @OidePrimarySTEM @National_AiE @EdCentreDonegal

In our sustainable project today Ss explored why plants and trees are important as carbon catchers. We looked at what plants need to survive and turned our @microbit_edu into light & heat meters before learning how we can also use them as soil moisture testers @OidePrimarySTE

First time using @LEGO_Education kits for a workshop. Fantastic product and I loved how creative the Ss got as they tried to build death defying fairground rides 🫣 Thanks to @EdCentreDonegal for the loan of kits 👍 @OidePrimarySTEM

@restinghoefacee I have a summer kayak operation in Ireland. Normally, I'm checking weather apps to see if it's going to go ahead. I have to cancel at least 20% of sessions. During COVID we had 100% on sessions and the most amazing weather

Witnessing how clean the earth got and how free the animals were during Covid lockdown was quite the experience

The Junior and Senior Infants of Scoil Aodh Rua agus Nuala got to try out their new Beebots today. While the bots were resting they learned how to program a fake beebot get to a flower before trying out their code with the real thing! @OidePrimarySTEM @EdCentreDonegal

Ss were learning all about renewable energy today and then made these beautiful pinwheels to demonstrate the power of wind energy 🌬️ #STEM @OidePrimarySTEM @National_AiE @EdCentreDonegal @Researchirel

Such fun with Junior and Senior Infants making Moto bots. I gave them pre wired motors and they learned how to put batteries in properly and how they can power a motor. They then worked in pairs to assemble it all. Some great artists were discovered too! @OidePrimarySTEM

Finished up our Blast funded #SustainableFuture project in Termon NS with a Show and Share to 3rd class Loved seeing how their confidence in explaining their project part developed as each group came to their station 😍 @Researchirel @National_AiE @OidePrimarySTEM

The Junior and Senior infants in Donegal Town learnt all about forces and motion today. They built straw rockets and blasted them off into space 🚀 #scienceweek #STEM @NASAScience_ @Researchirel @OidePrimarySTEM @EdCentreDonegal

Finished up a BLAST @microbit_edu and Wellbeing project with Murroe Ns last week. Ss explored coding breathing characters, step counters, sending positive msgs and gaming. Final project was building a tamagotchi pet. Some brilliant creations 😍 @National_AiE @EdCentreDonegal

I have to say that one of my favourite jobs is working as a creative facilitator with teachers who have secured creative cluster funding. I love the energy and ideas they bring. They are wholeheartedly about the Ss and how the experience will benefit them ❤️ @EdCentreDonegal
