I don't think I've ever read a comic of his, but Flash feels like the platonic ideal of a superhero if that makes sense. I know it should be Superman but his mythos is too specific and unique, Flash feels like a fake comic invented for a kid to read in a tv show (compliment)

This was honestly a really enjoyable read. Brubaker is a pretty good cartoonist and the writing really holds up well for being earlier in his career. You can see the shapes of what he would later write in Criminal with Cruel Summer and even the Last of the Innocent
