frowning deeply she slowly got off the bed and walked beside the woman with her shoulders slumped.
“can i at least get some ice cream after?”
glancing up she tried to hide how disappointed she actually was.

groaning she flopped back on the bed before closing her eyes with a sigh.
“how bad is it?”
slowly opening her eyes she studied toni’s gaze with her own. “am i out for the season?”

nodding she moved to the bed and hopped up onto it before grimacing slightly.
“at least i was safe?”
offering a lopsided grin she slowly offered her arm while she watched to see what the outcome would be.

slowly walking into one of the rooms cradling her arm she looked up with a grimace.
“it really hurts.”

during softball practice she and one of the girls collided and she landed on her arm; bending it the wrong direction.

“you’re cool even if my friends said you were hovered too much.”

she knew her mother was right in that they weren’t real friends if they pushed her away because she chose to do what was right instead of giving in to something that could have ended badly.
“mom? thank you.”
offering a soft smile she took her hand and squeezed it tightly. -

tears sprung to her eyes as she wrapped her arms around her mother’s shoulders. holding on tightly she buried her face in the crook of amelia’s neck.
she remained like that for quite a few moments before slowly pulling back and wiping at her eyes.
