I get why this feels worrying, dear. I don't think the core issue is even the event itself, it's how it will be read once it happens. A stage like that isn't neutral. It comes with context, and that context assigns meaning before the performance even begins. So whatever BTS do there wouldn't be received in isolation. It would be interpreted – politically and symbolically – regardless of intent. And once they're placed in that frame, control over meaning shifts away from them. It moves to the audience, the media, and existing narratives. That's where the real risk is for me. It stops being about what they do and becomes about what they're made to represent.

BTS on July 4th in the U.S.? This wouldn't just be a performance. It would read as a statement, whether intended or not. The upside is obvious: scale, visibility, symbolic reach. It places BTS on a global stage that extends beyond music, into something closer to cultural representation. But that stage isn’t neutral. July 4th carries state symbolism, and anything placed within that context is read through it. An appearance wouldn’t exist in isolation – it would be interpreted politically, regardless of how it’s framed. That's the trade-off. And this is where the fandom becomes the real variable. It won't read this as one event. It will fracture it. Some will call it recognition. Others – alignment. And some won't analyse it at all. They’ll just escalate it. The reaction won't be about the performance. It'll be about projection. Meaning will be assigned first, and only then justified. That’s how fandom works under pressure. Not by analysing context but by forcing it into existing narratives. So this wouldn't just be a stage. It would be a trigger. And BTS would lose control over the narrative the moment they step on that stage. There's also another layer that often gets collapsed in discussions like this. Not every conversation at a business or institutional level translates into BTS standing on that stage. These are different systems, and they don’t always move together. So yes, the scenario is possible. But it isn't neutral. It isn't simple. And it won't be received as just music. It won't be allowed to be.

이제 본격적으로 투어 시작이네요💜💚 도쿄 공연도 잘 보고 왔습니다! 물론 일본이라는 나라 특성상 사진은 못찍었지만 눈으로 태형이 정국이 잘 담아왔어요🥲 매번 느끼지만 무대 위에서 태형이, 정국이 정말 잘하더라고요😭💫👏👏 카메라로 클로즈업한 피사체만 오롯이 담을 땐 미처 다 느끼지 못했던 전체적인 무대 장악력과 압도적인 파워가 느껴졌어요. 그 모습을 조금이라도 카메라에 담아보고자 아리랑 투어에 열심히 다녀볼 생각입니다. 물론 1년이 넘는 시간 동안 85회차가 넘는 모든 일정을 다 소화할 순 없고 시간도 돈도 너무 걱정입니다만 할 수 있는 한 최선을 다해볼게요 (이렇게 써놓고 하나도 못찍어올까봐 매일이 걱정인 사람..🥲🥲) 요즘 하루하루 지나는 시간의 흐름들이 너무 빠른 것 같네요. 정신없이 흘러가는 순간 가운데 여전히 아름답고 빛나는 태형이와 정국이의 청춘을 많이 많이 남기고 싶어요. 그 순간들을 공유하는 것이 Sorte의 계정을 만들고 지금까지 이어 온 유일한 이유입니다🩷 그나저나 요즘 태형이랑 정국이 덕분에 너무 행복하네요. 여러분의 매일매일도 태형이와 정국이로 행복한 하루가 되시길 바라요👋👋 #TAEHYUNG #태형 #JUNGKOOK #정국
