@Astralomy That's exactly what great teachers do. They encourage their students to show their mistakes and to see them as something rational, not personal
English

@beemyli This is wrong. There is NO evidence or even possibilty for that to happen.

A man’s DNA stays in your body for seven years after you get pregnant by them. People act like sex is not a big deal but you’re wholeheartedly allowing someone else’s whole DNA to be in your body. This means you’re going to act like that person at times, or have certain energies/ties that are connected to that person for seven years. Sex is a sacred act for a reason.
English

@clockmakersmuse @fuedalreese Ah well okay yeah that's a valid point.
English

@fruhlingsfuchs @fuedalreese it's moreso that in the very beginning, he kind of leaves coco to fend for herself? like, for example, he brings her in to the atelier and then leaves her alone with 4 girls she doesn't know+no adult supervision while she's upset and traumatised and definitely needs support
English

#whaspoilers i know we make fun of qifrey's tone-deaf responses to coco's emotions, but i do think it could be a side effect of the silverwood curse making it difficult for him to properly comfort others during times of distress. distress, to him, is not something to be remedied.
English

@Sprigtastic German here: For me the whole setting also has a big Balkan influence. Maybe plus a little bit Persia.

Its perfect. Everything about the anime is perfect. The artstyle, the animation (sometimes a little bit like ghibli), the MUSIC, the voices and the whole concept. Brilliant! ♡♡♡

The Magic Begins Today.
To Readers and Viewers Around the World. Today marks the premiere of the #WitchHatAtelier anime.
I had the privilege of serving as the editor for volumes 6 through 13 of the manga.
Looking back, what stays with me most is the time we spent carefully building this world—page by page, detail by detail.
Among the many authors I have worked with, Kamome Shirahama is one of the most special.
Sensei’s curiosity is boundless, but what impressed me most was their steady attention to people—the way Sensei observes human nature and treats emotions with the utmost care. I believe this empathetic perspective is why Witch Hat Atelier resonates so deeply with readers across different cultures.
The days we spent overcoming the challenges of the pandemic together, and the moments we celebrated winning the Eisner and Harvey Awards, are treasures I will always hold dear. Working alongside Sensei was an experience I value deeply.
When the anime project began and I first met Mr. Kojima from BUG FILMS, I felt a strong sense of shared vision.
Naturally, I also had my concerns. The manga is known for its intricate line work and specific, quiet atmosphere, and I wondered how that delicate balance would translate to animation. Those concerns gradually faded as I saw the team’s approach.
When I visited the studio, I found it filled with reference materials, detailed drawings, and repeated tests.
What stood out was not just technical spectacle, but genuine care—an evident desire to understand the soul of the work before adapting it.
That attitude reassured me that the series was in thoughtful hands.
I have not yet seen the final version of the first episode. Even so, I am confident that the care invested in the production process will shine through on the screen.
To everyone watching from Japan, Europe, the Americas, Asia, and around the world—thank you for your continued support of this work.
Today, I return to this world not as an editor, but simply as a viewer, alongside all of you. I am just one of you—a fan.
I hope you enjoy stepping into the magic of Witch Hat Atelier once again.

@Bennieeexyz Some people just don't need the "real" university. Its mostly people who are drained by the way to clans or the people around them. For me its the same, but sadly I am not a super brain...
English

When I was in law school I was tangentially friends with a girl who never showed up to class. Skipped lectures, dodged every seminar, had a "family emergency" for every moot court session.
The night before 2nd year finals she was over at my place and casually mentioned she'd spent the last week watching every recorded lecture at 2x speed.
She placed top 10 out of 300 students. Every Single Exam.
And it wasn't just that she remembered the material, she actually UNDERSTOOD it. Like, laterally, practically, the way most of us who dragged ourselves to every 8am class still couldn't. She could apply case law to hypotheticals better than people who had been gunning for law review all year.
I always shuddered thinking about what she could do if she actually tried. But she was perfectly content to just… chill.
Some people are built different and honestly? It's annoying.
