visste du att ett enda vindkraftverk
till havs kostar omkring 30 miljoner euro
att bygga?
I genomsnitt ger ett modernt vindkraftverk
ungefär 35 GWh per år.
Med ett marknadspris på drygt 6,5 cent
per kilowattimme ger detta en årlig omsättning
på cirka 2,5 miljoner euro.
Dra bort de årliga driftskostnaderna
på 800 000 euro.
Då landar man på en nettovinst
på 1,7 miljoner euro per år.
Det tar alltså omkring 18 år innan
investeringen är återbetald.
Tyvärr är ett vindkraftverk avskrivet
redan efter cirka 15 år...
...och måste då bytas ut.

@vicsinghb @jemmm85517813 @grok Obviously the newer ones cost more, but they also produce a hell of a lot more… you’re correct in saying that storage of the production is an issue, but turbines shut down when they are not required by the grid, so it’s not wasted, they just power up when needed.

@vicsinghb @jemmm85517813 @grok Which are repaired in situ when need to, and we apply upgrades as preventative measures, I.e leading edge protection, Lightning protection systems, and Power curve upgrades to further increase life spans of turbines beyond the 25 year expectancies from the factory.

@vicsinghb @jemmm85517813 @grok You’d be very surprised at the amount of big components that require maintenance or replacement. I’ve worked in the industry for 14 years across wind farms world wide. Wind farms will replace gear box’s here and there, not a common occurrence. My speciality it blades…

2. Wind turbines have a 25 year life span, not 15.

@vicsinghb @jemmm85517813 3. Even small turbines produce around 15,000 a day, minus the 800,000 maintenance cost (unsure where they’ve plucked that figure from but let’s assume it’s true)…that turbine makes 116 million over its life time.
