@theprinceofvoid He used to try and hide it, he's bluntly become supportive of the IR atp, I never liked him that much but that doesn't make me ''slow'' this kind of talk is stupid, if people realize what's good and bad it doesn't matter when they discover, that kind of talk makes us weak.

@mganj79 The original point was that everyone was way more easily targeted under the new government than under the Shah, for example someone that liked alcohol, somebody that wore a suit and tie, somebody not putting their hijab on, etc, those aren't necessarily ideological things to do.

@mganj79 Iran still does but less now, It's kind of different but Iran's "allies" play both sides so much their more like moral support for the IR, trusting states like Russia and China was a massive miscalculation, you dont claim to distance from imperial powers just to go 2 others.

@godguy99 Iran played different sides under Shah, it has the entire time since 1979, (everyone knows about Iran-Contra affair) and it would continue to if pro-U.S. regime change occurred and there was a pro-U.S. govt there again Every major country under capitalism does one way or another

@mganj79 Ive missed some of your comments, Well duh North Korea was isolated and become mega dictatorial as an result, Iran is different and alot of society wether we as Iranians like it or not are secularized or westernized, having spoken to tons of Gen Z Iranians in and outside Tehran.

@mganj79 Well, I don't believe in communism so, we will disagree but atleast we can freely criticize eachother in the future I hope, God's existence is more so personal, at the end of the day religion is a personal matter, so if you don't believe that's fine.

@godguy99 No one is "free" under capitalism, and no country can actually be "democratic" (in the sense you clearly mean it here, actually representative of the people, etc.) under capitalism. "God" does not exist. You're a typical bourgeois middle-class reactionary idealist liberal.

@mganj79 Well yeah China plays both sides, the morality can be argued about but from an economic/geopolitical perspective it seems to work for them, it actually reminds me of the IR state in the 90s with the "neither east nor west" policy it had before it went fully east.

@godguy99 Obviously, that's part of why the U.S. would not bomb China. China itself just games every side it can and benefits from any situation. It will sell/profit from arms trade to Israel and to Palestinians that fight Israel. It's currently profiting from the U.S./Israel - Iran War.

@mganj79 Yes but that was by actual industrialization the Iranian state did it's basic duties but beyond the basics it failed to actually secure the country, most Iranians would agree on that including the IRGC people, the CCP actually managed to secure loyalty of its people.

@godguy99 Iran has lifted many people from poverty & developed much in general since 1979. Again: thats precisely part of why the U.S./Israel are doing what theyre doing now. Cant have a country be too successful without a fight when it's not willing to be sold out to their own interests

@mganj79 I mean I've been to the smaller cities too, it's the same there it's not good at all. Atleast China doesn't run on anything ideological and the average Chinese person is far more satisified than the average Iranian, no country on earth is perfect and it won't ever be.

@godguy99 Youre being pedantic with your definition of "poverty" Yes China has eradicated largely severe rural povertyโ€”by hyper industrializing and just making its people suffer in another form of poverty And it's insipid to act like Iran is somehow worse since you saw poor ppl in Tehran
