@NewstalkFM Anton Savage's arrogance is absolutely disgusting. What a revolting traitor. Does he not understand this is a NATIONAL PROTEST now? The ENTIRE COUNTRY is protesting.

Fuel protest spokesperson: "Nobody knows what the plan is... this protest is out of my hands". ⛽🚫Have the fuel protests gotten out of control? Anton speaks with John Dallon, Kildare farmer and protest spokesperson.

@JJCASEY8 @rtenews Ireland is due to host the EU presidency in 12 weeks. Would be an awful shame if hundreds of tractors and trucks got lost and ended up stuck on O'Connell street again right when that is happening!

@rtenews Fuel protestors should hold their fire for now and wait to run in the next election in marginal FF & FG seats and beat them in the ballot box.

@Independent_ie The money won't "run out". The IPAS scam and the billions we waste every year on it needs to end. Can you cover the enormous wastage on IPAS spending @MaryERegan?

@CorkBuachaill @Franciscooney96 They can't move away from diesel. Electric tractors are not suitable for heavy farming work. Their weight causes soil compaction and they can only operate for a few hours which is useless when you need to work 10-16 hours/day.

@TadghMurphy10 These "dumb cunts" put food on your table and allow you to eat. Prices of green diesel are available online if you want to have a look. Currently €1.70-€1.80/litre.

@Independent_ie There was nothing proportionate about using significant violence against peaceful protestors. They used pepper spray on children and eldery and violently dragged farmers out of their tractors and viciously kicked them in the head while they were on the ground.

What about the rest of us? My company has 12 vans on the road and paying nearly €2k per week for fuel. We’re not in the haulage or agri-food sector but we have 85+ employees and subcontractors who still have to get to work and it’s becoming unaffordable for them to do so.

I can’t stand this abuse to the Gardai In all honesty, what are they supposed to do? & if the same ones giving them dogs abuse had PETA or climate activists blockading their farms & premises then they’d expect the Gardai to move them on to let them get on with their business
The Irish Politics Newsletter@TullMcAdoo

Lads giving out to the gardai that they pay their wages while shutting the country down and looking for a bailout from the Irish taxpayers is very Irish.

@PowerMumbo @LadyK62671 @MichealLehane It was absolutely peaceful, there was no violence at all at any protest across the country. Funnily enough Gardaí used significant violence on the peaceful protestors. They pepper sprayed children and elderly and were videoed visciously dragging and kicking a farmer in the head.

@rtenews The EU needs to be strongly looked at. When you have the Irish Government blaming the EU for restricting their ability to keep key sectors of our economy running during an emergency, it shows the EU is simply not fit for purpose.
