@cbcwatcher If there is indeed 'forced labour' used in the eV supply chain, why on Earth would Canadians want to buy them and shame on them if they do!

This whole clip is remarkable to see on CBC "Non-political" Carney backer Rob Russo "The danger for the Liberals is that they have a reputation of being soft on China." "The RCMP has said that they operate police stations here. They've said that they've closed up some of them, but there are investigations that are ongoing." Harrison "It's coddling for a government MP to deny forced labour in China is to deny that the sky is blue." "And I think that it is troubling that the Prime Minister can't bring himself to say very clearly, so that is on the record ahead of this trip for the Finance Minister that forced labour exists in China and that this is a major consideration as we undertake trade." "...Right now we are leaving ourselves very exposed and in my view cozying up far too much to a regime that has a lot of human rights abuses" "I also think that as we undertake to bring more Chinese EVs into the Canadian market, it also has to be acknowledged the reason why that is such a cheap alternative is because of course there is forced labour in the supply chain that surrounds EVs." @KatlynHarrison

This explains a LOT. China has been providing Iran with a stream of high quality chips, missiles, explosives and other materials: 1) China provided Iran with dual-use components, including inertial sensors and satellite navigation modules, often acquired through Chinese intermediaries to bypass sanctions. These chips are essential for any electronics, but particularly for the guidance systems of drones, like the Shahed series, and missiles. 2) In early 2026, China granted Iran access to its BeiDou-3 Navigation Satellite System, significantly improving the accuracy of Iranian drone and missile strikes. Combined with Iran’s recent transition from U.S. GPS to China’s BeiDou-3 Navigation System, these chips allow for high-precision, jam-resistant strikes that are much harder for Western forces to intercept. 3) Beyond chips, China has supplied over 1,000 tons of sodium perchlorate, a precursor for solid rocket fuel, enough to power hundreds of ballistic missiles. This allows Iran to rapidly replenish its arsenal even after heavy battlefield losses. 4) Potentially, the most significant recent development is the reported acquisition of the CM-302 supersonic "carrier-killer". This was designed to his US Navy carriers. This all explains why Iran has been so effective and why they may be able to further escalate and hit targets like desalination plants and even carriers. It also shows that China is going all in, in order to frustrate the US and to test its weapons systems.

Japanese Prime Minister #SanaeTakaichi came under fire in parliament on Tuesday as her evasive answers regarding #Taiwan have triggered strong criticism from opposition parties and fueled disorder at the Diet meeting. On Tuesday, lawmakers engaged in a heated debate over Takaichi's earlier erroneous remarks on Taiwan. Constitutional Democratic Party lawmaker Hajime Hirota pressed Takaichi to clarify whether Taiwan would fall under the category of "other countries with close ties to Japan" in the definition of a "survival-threatening situation". Takaichi said the category is "not specified in advance" and needs to be judged "on a case-by-case basis", while avoiding any further explanations. Hirota then asked whether Takaichi would retract her previous erroneous remarks on Taiwan. Although opposition lawmakers shouted from their seats that it was her "last chance", Takaichi reiterated that "there has been no change to the Japanese government's basic position," without clarifying what that stance actually entails. Her responses drew strong protests from opposition parties. Japanese media reported that the session was briefly suspended for several minutes, while the live broadcast was muted three times.

Growing up is realising that in Titanic, Rose decides to throw away a $250 million pendant in memory of an unemployed man with whom she had sex one time. Meanwhile, her husband worked hard all his life to maintain her and give her and her children a life of luxury, and he would surely have also appreciated the inheritance and lived peacefully. She could have also given the pendant to her granddaughter, who took care of her her whole life. The real villain of the movie was Rose.

LOL -- China thinks they met the best of US Technology. Those F-15J Mitsubishi fighters are undergoing upgrades, which will include an AN/APG-82(V)1 active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, developed by Raytheon (now RTX). This is the same radar equipping the US Air Force's F-15E Strike Eagle and F-15EX Eagle II, and it is precisely the system Japan selected for its ongoing F-15J Super Interceptor (JSI) modernization program (upgrading ~68 aircraft as of late 2024-2025 contracts). You ain't seen nothing yet. Had those fighters been F-15E Strike Eagles, this scenario would have caused the PLA to chit their pants.

🇨🇳 J-15B vs 🇺🇸🇯🇵 F-15J: When "American Made" Meets "China’s New Generation"—Japan’s Panic Says It All Beyond the headlines - separating Japanese fake outrage from genuine concerns over Japans intrusion into the well announced flight training exercises conducted by the PLAN carrier group On Dec 6, China’s Liaoning carrier-based J-15B fighters had a little “chat” with Japan’s F-15Js over the Western Pacific. The result? Japanese military brass is “freaked out” (their words, not mine)—and for good reason: When 🇨🇳J-15Bs locked onto 🇯🇵F-15Js, Japan’s American-supplied radar warning receivers only beeped after the weapon lock was done - from a reported distance of 148km. Which means if shots were fired, F-15J pilots would’ve been history before they even reached for the eject button Tokyo whines about “provocation,” but let’s check the tech gap—because facts hurt worse than their PR spin: 🇯🇵F-15J’s radar? A 1970s mechanical relic that spots J-15Bs at max 100km 🇨🇳J-15B’s GaN AESA radar? 21st-century tech that sees F-15Js at least 170km away—and resists jamming like a pro In addition China’s got J-15D electronic warfare jets (think: EA-18 Growler but better) tagging along, turning F-15Js’ already outdated systems into expensive junk Japan is trying to play victim over its forced intrusion into a Chinese carrier battle group exercise but it actually exposed a multi-generational gap: Their F-15Js have been flying since 1981 (older than most of their pilots!), based on a U.S. design from the Carter era. China’s J-15B? Entered service in 2024—43 years later—with composite bodies, stealth coatings, and PL-15 missiles that outrange Japan’s AIM-7s by 30 years 🤣 It’s like bringing a knife to a fight with a sniper rifle And let’s talk about the system integration, because modern war isn’t about single jets and dog fights anymore—it’s about teamwork. Japan relies on E-767 AWACS from the 1980s, which can’t hold a candle to China’s KJ-500 or Fujian’s KJ-600. The J-15B/J-15D combo doesn’t just outfly F-15Js—it blinds and confuses their entire network. No wonder Tokyo’s so upset: Their “East Asia air superiority” myth just got shattered by a Chinese carrier group Article Link militarywatchmagazine.com/article/chines…

I think it's funny that many Japanese try to debate with me about who is right/wrong about this Radar locking thing. You might never follow me before, let me introduce myself a little bit. I firmly believe that the current peace between China and Japan is as short-lived and hypocritical as the peace between Rome and Carthage during the Second and Third Punic Wars. The immense hatred and deep distrust caused by two wars within 100 years have made the third War inevitable; I firmly believe that Japan, due to its lack of resources and frequent earthquakes, is essentially an expansionist. The next time China weakens in next 200 years, Japan 100% will invade China again. China should solve Japan problem for our descendants when it is strong. I firmly believe that Chinese civilization has evolved from the past continental civilization to the current oceanic and continental civilization. In the past 2,000+ years, China has only expanded westward on land, and in the future, China needs to expand eastward to the ocean, and Japan is the biggest obstacle blocking China's access to the ocean; I firmly believe that in Chinese history, all the ethnic minorities who once invaded China in the large scale, such as the Xiongnu, Turks, Tibet, Khitan, Mongols, Manchu...... were finally eliminated and assimilated by the Chinese civilization, and Japan should not be an exception; I firmly believe.......I'll skip this one, X will ban me for this. After getting all these, are you sure you still want to debate with me about the radar thing? I honestly don't care.

Things I’m going to say on Twitter anonymized to preserve friendships. Hopefully those ppl are still stuck on FB/linkedin: No, you a white Canadian do NOT get to imply I’m a quisling for contemplating reunification. A quisling is someone who betrays their country for the enemy. Republic of China/Peoples republic of China have a historical wound that needs mending. If anything, the quislings are the ppl who deny their Chinese heritage and pretend they are Japanese, a country not only colonized Taiwan but brutalized their fellow Chinese during WWII in horrendous ways and never owed up to it properly. No, you a South African alcoholic probably drinking to himself to an early grave after decades in Taiwan and not really learning any Chinese don’t get to worry about my “undiagnosed mania.” “I want you happy and free.” And I’m sure your partner would want you to drink less and take up hiking. We don’t always get what we want. And you, white man living in Japan, do not get to “worry about me” and remind me how pro-Taiwan your new China-hating PM is. “Please, do not give up. Beijing hasn’t won but is far closer to losing than winning.” Erm…I don’t think your new PM’s minimization of war crimes is either good for regional stability or Japan’s soul. Love that she’s pro-nuclear tho! What a bunch of maroons…

As more and more people in Taiwan are realizing, we’ve long been abandoned. On the plus side, we’re being “abandoned” to the terrible fate of joining up with the country that will almost certainly be the world’s top power in another quarter century. To the US, so long and thanks for all the fish. To the Chinese, uh, I mean our fellow compatriots, let’s talk about how Taiwan’s unique history and culture make our way of life not a threat but an asset to China. If we can get through this switcheroo without being smashed to bits like Ukraine, we’d look back and realized Taiwan pulled off the greatest Geopolitical trick of the century!

China has a lot of corrupt politicians. Been true since Qing era. Possibly deeply ingrained with the personal connection culture. But at least China punishes them. If $38M is enough to get you the death penalty, basically everyone in US congress would be dead.

I don't think people are realizing what's happening with the Global Sumud Flotilla: it's potentially becoming extremely consequential. Fact is, at this stage the flotilla is effectively escorted by multiple warships from 3 major countries: Spain, Italy and Turkyie. The warships are all nominally there to "assist" and "rescue" the flotilla in case shit happens - that's the official story - BUT: - They obviously have a very strong deterrence effect, so Israel will think twice before attacking - I frankly cannot believe they wouldn't act if the flotilla gets attacked as this would be a major PR disaster for the governments in questions: your own citizens (including some MPs) getting attacked by Israel in front of your eyes in international waters (or Palestine territorial waters) and you watch it happen from your warship? Hard to see this happen, this is politically suicidal for a government. - Logically speaking, why send actual warships if you haven't accepted the possibility there might be a confrontation? As the old military adage goes "don't draw your sword unless you're prepared to use it": if it was purely about assistance and rescue, they could have sent coastguard boats for instance. The "rescue and assist" framing is probably about plausible deniability to retain the most flexibility in the actions they can take, and in narrative management. I'm not sure what's going to happen but as far as I can see there are 3 options: 1) Israel doesn't attack, the flotilla reaches Gaza, which means the blockade is breached and which is a major precedent 2) Israel attacks and the warships of all 3 nations let it happen, which will create a major public opinion disaster 3) Israel attacks and the warships fight them, and you effectively have war between NATO countries and Israel I think you'll agree that whatever happens, it's consequential no matter what. What I suspect is that the governments in question are betting on Israel blinking first but that they're willing to follow through if Israel calls their bluff, they wouldn't have deployed the warships otherwise.
Drop Site@DropSiteNews

Confirmed News Update, September 29: The Global Sumud Flotilla Receives Aid from Turkish Naval Ships Organizers confirmed with Drop Site that Turkish navy ships are facilitating humanitarian aid from the Red Crescent, after the naval ships provided rescue help to the ship “Johnny M,” which sent out a mayday signal at dawn. It has not been confirmed whether the Turkish naval vessels will join the flotilla’s mission to Gaza. Two civilian ships from Turkey have joined the fleet, and one Italian navy vessel and one Spanish navy vessel have been spotted and have also reportedly joined the fleet for rescue purposes. Organizers provided a statement on these developments: “The fleet temporarily paused after ‘Johnny M’ sustained a leak in the engine room. The situation could not be resolved at sea and the vessel is unable to continue. All participants have been safely transferred to another vessel, some will be reassigned to other boats and others will be brought ashore. We are grateful to the Red Crescent, in coordination with the Turkish government, for facilitating the safe return of participants and delivering additional humanitarian aid to the fleet. This will not cause significant delays to the mission, which is set to arrive in as close as 4 days.” On Tuesday evening, the flotilla is expected to reach 150 nautical miles from Gaza, the likeliest distance where Israeli forces will conduct interception maneuvers of the 40+ ships. Report by Drop Site’s Alex Colston (@enoughformethx).

Note that when white people are racist towards Chinese people, Chinese netizens rarely respond with anti-white racism. They will rarely answer hatred with more hatred. They will either ignore it, critique it, or call it out in non-escalatory fashion - but they'll never show white people the mirror. However, when Indians are racist towards Chinese people, the response is just as racist in return. The same Chinese people who tolerate or intellectualize anti-Chinese racism from whites - will respond in kind and lash out fiercely when the same anti-Chinese racism comes from Indians. A near-perfect example of the principle of "It's not hypocrisy it's hierarchy".
