@attacker021 @a_Shell_iOS iSH provides a special device, /dev/location, that can provide real-time position information, even while the app is backgrounded (iOS typically terminates the app otherwise). Location data is not gathered or even requested unless you interact with this device.

iSH 1.2.3 is here, and includes an update to Alpine 3.14 (from 3.12). If the update is available for you, you'll see a red dot on the settings icon—tap and follow the prompts to run the update. Also includes a few other bug fixes, including better spacing of terminal fonts.

@gamr12 iSH tracks the @alpinelinux repositories. I'm not entirely sure when they are going to update the nodejs package to the next LTS version, but you'll be able to install version 16 (as "nodejs-current") when we ship with Alpine Linux 3.14.

@mizu_bai @sayo_melu @ayakaneko @OikawaRizumu We're trying our best with the translations, although Asiatic languages tend to translate poorly so sometimes we have to go ask friends for help. We're only fluent in English, Spanish, Hindi, Swedish, and Toki Pona across the three of us so everything else takes a bit of work ;)

Unfortunately getting focus right with the web view is somewhat difficult and we haven't gotten around to fixing this yet :( But while you wait, sometimes opening the settings panel can help with first responder issues.

We have a new release of iSH to share with you! Version 1.2.2 adds an option to hide the status bar on any device, as well as some text measurement speedups in our terminal emulator that enable a significant improvement in launch times. It's up to 3x faster on older processors!

@wongmjane There’s also a setting to remap map backtick to escape

realized there’s no escape in Magic Keyboard for iPad luckily iSH provides the virtual key, saving me the Vim jokes

@colinthart You should generate a new key with ssh-keygen, normally each device should have its own public/private key instead of copying one from another device

@colinthart If you already have SSH keys, ssh-copy-id should work; if not then run ssh-keygen first

@ariadneconill Unfortunately there's a couple of things we'd need to fix before we can upgrade, but once we do it should be easy as pi ;)

While there are a couple improvements we'd like to make, iSH works just fine on the iOS 15 beta in case you were wondering :)
