#BLEACH Kubo; I designed Rukia before Ichigo, and the idea wasn’t to create BLEACH first—it was the other way around. I started with Rukia first, and when I felt she was a “Shinigami” (a soul reaper), that’s when I decided to name the work BLEACH.
