I want to talk about this scene - Michael’s nose surgery and the clear capture of vitiligo.
Discussion goes back and forth on the WHY behind his rhinoplasty, dance accident versus cosmetic and honestly why does that matter? It was his health decision and that alone should be respected.
I looked carefully at the post op - when Michael told Joe it’s for his sinuses, it’s not only his way of explaining it to a judgmental and foreboding father, it’s foundation for his lupus - Airway and nasal damage interferes when breathing. While he may not have known about his lupus then he knew it was causing trouble with his breathing.
The moment with Latoya was so heartfelt and authentic - acknowledgement that everybody does it.
It’s only ever an issue bc it’s Michael.

oh this is a clinic. ❤️🩹😥 It could be his dance injury pre or post op nose surgery or vitiligo/lupus testing. The lateral and frontal X-rays tells me it’s (maybe) a surgical visit
