honestly, most people don't care about "OCs". if all you do is sit around and create characters in isolation, with no story, no themes to connect them and resonate with an audience... you won't have an audience.
you have to do the scary thing and commit to a real project.

This whole thing is really highlighting the difference in mentality between making a story vs just making OCs, and people who only make OCs aren't recognizing it

Nothing turns me off like the glaring inauthenticity that emanates from some people. Nothing cooler than a wildly flawed, deeply imperfect person that owns their shit. But someone that constantly curates their persona to seem agreeable & in tandem with whatever is cool these days

It’s surprising to me how many people are under the impression only what’s intended matters in art, and just disregard the unintentional or perceived unintentional as suddenly not a part of the experience.
