We are living in an insanely divided America right now. That much is quite obvious. For the last few decades, the legacy media, and political elite on BOTH sides, have done us all dirty. Sowing fear and anger and hate on unprecedented levels. It must stop. And my hope is that we are now making headway toward that goal. But additionally, we all have a part to play in this. We can continue to believe their lies and play into their hands, becoming more angry, closed-off, and blindly partisan, or we can begin to fight that programming within our own hearts and minds and help in the great journey back to being a truly UNITED people once again. Hatred is hatred. Arrogance is arrogance. Deception is deception. Regardless of your political persuasion, this is unacceptable and needs to end. And this is why I find myself far less annoyed with the bad behavior of those who are on the other side of the political aisle from me, than similar behavior from those who claim to be fighting for the same causes I am fighting for. If you truly believe you are fighting for the light, but are consumed by darkness, you are a hypocrite. When someone from the other side is behaving in such a way, they are CALLING us bad names. When someone on our side is behaving this way, they are GIVING us a bad name. This is why some of you might see me use a little more softness with those who are clearly, blindly attacking me, versus those who claim to be on my side but spew their own version of ignorant, judgemental nonsense. We must both try to win the hearts and minds of the opposition, while firmly holding those in our camp accountable. When we do not, we are fraudulent in our stance. We cannot expect people to behave in ways that we ourselves do not represent. You wanna fight for the light? Make sure you’ve got your heart right first. You wanna help lead someone else to the light? Start with the man in the mirror. 🙏
