Ok yeah the animation’s not bad but it is FOR SURE disappointing Regular Show in particular isn’t animated on paper anymore. It’s apart of the show’s DNA. They did storyboards on paper for as long as they could. Benson and Mordecai’s designs come from 2 in the AM PM, Pops comes from Lolliland, JG’s two short films that were black and white, animated on paper. Anti-Pops whole thing was breaking characters down into sticky note doodles. The finale had the whole storyboard fourth-wall reality break sequence. It’s going to feel off and worse to people than it actually is because this show has looked a certain way to us for 16 years, any change is gonna be mad jarring. I have faith they’ll still manage to have some standout moments in spite of the circumstances. It’s clear JG Quintel adores traditional animation, so I’m sure this trade-off bites a bit for him too. Current state of the industry is so fucking depressing. But I still look forward to seeing what they have in store for us, because a lot of hard work still went into it
