I hear every day complaints about subsquid @helloSQD being down & failing on testnets, mainnets, and just not reliable. Subsquid failed on sepiola just this morning. Get your tentacles together sirs. Plenty are ready to eat your lunch.

Crypto lawyers are some of the most under-appreciated people In this industry The scenarios and shenanigans they deal with on a regular basis are next level compared to trad VC One word of advice - don’t get on the wrong end of a good crypto lawyer

I’m going to have to rebrand, infinite negative aura being associated with anything to do with crypto. Very little upside socially and monetarily. I only really trade BTC & ETH anyway as 90% of my activity is now focused on stocks. With this in mind I’ll be going for a fresh look in the coming weeks. It was a fun ride trading 2017-2025 with a crypto focus but times have changed. There really was no better industry to participate in at its peak, the memes, the degeneracy, the friends made along the way and of course life changing money. Very grateful for what has been, but the industry has changed and there’s no going back to what it was. This isn’t a capitulation post, I pivoted most of my portfolio reasonably early in 2025 and got positioned really well and outperformed enormously. This is more of a changing of course for this account, but will still remain connected with all the friends made along the way. Looking forward to an amazing year ahead.

True beauty is on the inside

The Multivariate Rarity of Western Psychology Using data from the World Values Survey (2005–2014) across 80 countries (≈85% of the world’s population), Muthukrishna et al. (2020) show that cultural and psychological differences between societies are best understood as patterns across multiple variables, rather than as large gaps on any single dimension. When hundreds of traits are considered jointly, Western populations emerge as statistically unusual in multivariate psychological space, despite substantial overlap on individual traits. Broadly speaking, the study finds that Western populations exhibit higher individualism, are more willing to cooperate and extend moral concern beyond kin, place greater emphasis on personal freedom and self-expression, display greater tolerance for individual variation, and place less emphasis on obedience to authority. Importantly, the study systematically understates true differences: it captures only a limited subset of psychological constructs—excluding, among others, cognitive ability (IQ)—and represents each included dimension with a small number of survey questions that capture only part of the underlying psychological variance; treats all questions as equally important; collapses response categories in ways that discard information about degree and intensity; and relies on survey items that may not fully represent the same constructs or have the same meaning across cultures. Consequently, the study paints a low-resolution portrait of cross-cultural psychological differences, rather than revealing their full magnitude and true direction.

@0xBill_ @Melt_Dem Also wot 4-8 are definitely skippable and mostly revisit unoriginal, common fantasy tropes rather than anything innovative. Book 4 wasn't a bad book but the story was already too long, disconnected & winding even by then. Book 7&8 were straight-up bad.

@NickSzabo4 @D_Cerqueiro Nick, the USA is the only country in the world that was created by immigrants, and "American" is not a nationality in the classical sense. It's just that 300 years have passed , and it's a natural social process that, let's say, Greece went through thousands of years ago.

This is an extremely fraudulent use of the word "community." Strangers with alien customs come from distant lands, uninvited by actual existing communities; suddenly a politician calls them "an integral part of the community." Very much no. Actual communities are people with well-understood and shared customs who *communicate*. Without shared understandings and customs, and without well-understood communications based on those shared understandings, there is no community. There are only politicians lying to you.

Spending time in proximity to other people’s children is quite anti-natal. Basically no <8yo are net positive for a place. Some older kids are but higher variance.

@dissectmarkets @tyleraloevera They marry Japanese ladies in villages. They buy chat accounts from African romance scammers then marry the old lady that is getting scammed. They are all married to confused old ladies in the countryside who have no idea what they really do. It wasn't the guy they chatted with.

The extra phrase in the resolution text specifically excluding memecoins is non-limiting to just memecoins, & is only indicative that the "governance" character is essential for the resolution. To resolve as Yes would ignore the clear deadline & cause problems. (I have no bet.)

Then if there's no governance function on it by that time, it breaks the important deadline. To explain this point, It's POSSIBLE for Lighter to release a second token which actually is a governance token after January. This would cement today's token as non-gov. .../

@jillgun Technically this means you weren't hacked - you had approved use of your tokens by a third party address. If they misused it, then it's a debt issue between you and them. If that third party was exploited, then it's their responsibility. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Last night around 5pm I sat down to do some work. I opened my Rabby wallet to try out Espresso's new cross-chain mint product, Presto, that Rarible had just put live on mainnet. When I opened my wallet, I immediately saw that $30k was missing...
