PEOPLE ARE UNDERESTIMATING TRUMP'S PLAN TO TURN THE MIDTERMS INTO A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION YEAR: Republican voters notoriously don't turn out in special elections. Midterm elections are not as bad but not as good as presidential years. We are notoriously top of the ticket voters. President Trump understands that. And that's why he's going to turn the 2026 midterms into a presidential election! We're going to have a full-blown convention this year! Democrats have no plans for a convention of their own. Of course that makes perfect sense because Democrats have no agenda to talk about! They're running a basement strategy. Whereas Trump has an agenda and fantastic achievements to discuss! In essence, Trump is turning the 2026 midterms into a presidential election cycle! I predict this will create a huge turnaround in GOP turnout versus your traditional midterm election. What do you think of this strategy?

@RThaught @MarkMeadows I actually agree with you that unlimited untraceable money in elections needs to go away. Any and all donations must be declared and reported on the internet within 24 hours, periods, no exceptions. We should absolutely know who is paid for and by whom.

@itzWicks @MarkMeadows Citizens United needs to go. Unlimited untraceable money in elections means foreign influence is guaranteed. Serving your constituents should not be a path to becoming a millionare. That change 2000ish.. combined with a handful of others have put us where we are today.

Fair question. IMO the current leadership has lost their way on working out the priorities that Americans care about most. That said, there are real proposals on the table that will give you affordable options for healthcare that are sustainable. We just need to tweak the guys at the top. And pass term limits for all members of Congress.

@Milajoy I’m more worried that Vance will become President after the Democrat controlled Congress successfully impeaches and convicts Trump in the next legislative session. This can genuinely happen if Republicans fail to show up at the polls during the midterms.

This is happening because Republicans are SICK of Congress doing NOTHING and JD is a victim. If Congress doesn't change PRONTO we will have a President Newsom in 2028. Mark my words.

@alphafox Vance can get back on track by spearheading the movement to get the SAVE America Act passed. He will be a national hero to so many if he’s seen as the guy who marched into Thune’s office and got things moving in the right direction again.

@BlackDumpling I actually concur with this. That would have made Discovery more watchable, but it would have been far better if the first season arc was condensed into three episodes, followed immediately by the time skip into the 32nd century. As it originally played out, I was not a fan.

STAR TREK: The great tragedy of Discovery is knowing that this single character could've carried the entire show through several seasons at least. If he were an "evil" Picard but extraordinarily sly about it, where the audience knew he was a malevolent actor but the crew being wholly unawares. And that going on for years as we watch his schemes unfold and see that he's both ruthlessly competent but fiercely devoted to humanity. A kind of In the Pale Moonlight as a series long arc. It'd be difficult to pull off and it's clear none of the Discovery writers had the chops... but I'm telling you a seed was there.
