🆘🆘 COCO (ID 249356), 11 YO, FE,ALE – IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 3/10/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- moving. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 3/24/26 ➡️ SENIOR ALERT ➡️ MEDICAL PRIORITY – NEEDS MORE CARE AND ATTENTION THAN THE SHELTER CAN PROVIDE – IN FELINE ICU ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST ➡️ 🆘🆘 3RD Chance on Emergency Placement List – NO ROOM IN SHELTER – WILL NOT BE GIVEN MUCH MORE TIME – VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK– 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 13 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ COCO IS ON THE EPL FOR MEDICAL REASONS -Coco is a hyperthyroid cat that has numerous abnormal subcutaneous masses on her abdomen. A biopsy is pending and further recommendations will be made when results are available. Hyperthyroidism will need veterinary follow-up and typically requires oral medication for life, although I-131 radiation can be curative. Behaviorally, Coco has allowed medical handling. What my friends at ACC say about me: I am a sweet, social, older gal, looking for the perfect forever home! Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. It could be with you! Coco interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience. This evaluation/diagnosis means that COCO will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 NICE THING ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you

🆘🆘 POPCORN SHRIMP (ID 24606), 3 YO, MALE– IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as a stray on 2/28/2026. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 3/24/26 ➡️ NEW HOPE PARTNER RESCUE ONLY ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST ➡️➡️🆘🆘 5TH Chance on Emergency Placement List – BEYOND URGENT - NO ROOM IN SHELTER – WILL NOT BE GIVEN MUCH MORE TIME – VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 23 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ POPCORN SHRIMP IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS -He is not thriving in the care center and is deteriorating in the Adoptions room. He is now displaying signs of defensive aggression. “DETERIORATING IN THE ADOPTIONS ROOM” often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I am looking for a home with a patient person. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I would do best in a home with only adult humans. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke @mehser12 💔😿🙏Thank you

🆘🆘 MYSTIC (ID 247322), 5 YO, MALE– IN STATEN IUSLAND ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 2/19/2026, with the surrender reason stated as not a fit - too many animals already. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 3/24/26 ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST ➡️🆘🆘 4TH Chance on Emergency Placement List – BEYOND URGENT - NO ROOM IN SHELTER – WILL NOT BE GIVEN MUCH MORE TIME – VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 32 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ MYSTIC IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS -He remains in his den throughout the day when staff are present and has displayed defensive behaviors when approached. When staff lift the den cover to check on him, he responds with hissing, lunging, and swatting. When a scratcher tool is presented, he growls and avoids interaction. Given these behaviors, it is in Mystic’s best interest to transition out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as soon as possible, as he does not appear to be thriving in the shelter setting. Medically, he appears healthy at this time. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Meet Mystic 🖤 Mystic is a quiet, independent adult cat who is looking for a calm, adult-only home. He can be timid and skittish, especially in new situations, and will need time and patience to adjust to a new environment. He is not aggressive but prefers space when he feels unsure. An experienced adopter who can move at his pace, offer high-value treats, and use gentle positive reinforcement will help him build confidence and trust. With understanding and a peaceful home, Mystic has the potential to slowly blossom into a rewarding companion. Mystic is an adult cat that may not have had many interactions with humans from an early age. He is very apprehensive of people and while showing no aggressive behaviors, she does attempt to flee and avoid human contact. It is difficult to predict if he will respond to socialization but we recommend offering high value treats and food to help build a positive association to humans. Please be mindful that older cats will require more time and skill in order for them to be comfortable around people.❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke @mehser12 💔😿🙏Thank you
