Vocab/writing tip from @margaretmckeow2:
Donโt ask kids to write a sentence with a new vocabulary word - they can fake it!
E.g., does โI feel cozyโ show understanding?
Instead try having them complete a sentence stem: โMy cat looks cozy whenโฆโ which requires more thinking!
