When you walk into our elementary school parking lot, you’ll see a short tan trailer in the back.
That trailer is our rural library.
Inside, the shelves are packed so tight that two kids can’t pass each other without bumping elbows.
On busy afternoons, students sit on the floor because there are no chairs left. Most reading programs have to be held outside during the summer because there is no room inside - making winter literacy programs almost impossible to run.
Still, more than 7,000 friends and neighbors rely on this tiny space for stories, homework help, and a quiet place to learn.
We believe our community deserves better - a real building with room to read, learn, and gather.
That’s why college film student Jaye Ahre Alia has chosen our campaign for his senior project.
Over the next two months, he’ll film the hopes of parents, teachers, and children who can’t wait for a library they can grow into instead of out of.
Jaye’s documentary will also spotlight the organizations that step forward to help.
If your business wants to connect with families in East Idaho - or show support for rural America in a genuine way - this is a chance to do something that matters and have your impact recorded on film.
Your partnership could put books in kids’ hands, computers on desks, and a roof over it all.
Do you know a company with a heart for small towns?
Please tag them here or send me a direct message.
A gift of any size moves us closer to opening day, and Jaye is eager to feature every new partner who joins before filming wraps in the coming months.
Let’s replace that crowded trailer with a welcoming library our children - and their children - can treasure for years to come.
