As revolting as this is, I'm actually a little glad that Candace said this, because it renders her agenda so transparent. It's not "asking questions," it's not a hunt for "the truth." She is bitter that a person far better than her eventually saw her for who she really was, so she wants postumous revenge by attacking his family and the people he chose to put ahead of her.
