@chucktodd We won’t get that because that would involve the GOP admitting Trump’s pardons were bad too. Also, pardoning people so they don’t face vindictive prosecution is not the same as pardoning people because they committed crimes on your behalf. It’s all just “both sides” to you still.

Perhaps Trump would have done this regardless, but let’s not forget Biden created this pre-emptive pardon precedent. The only good news that might come out of this pardon corruption: we will get a bipartisan supported Constitutional amendment to create a Congressional nullification process for all presidential pardons.

@megbasham Commenting on US policy is not the same thing as dictating it. It's called free speech. Even the pope has it. You just don't like what he has to say. If he were saying Trump was awesome you'd be gleefully retweeting it as a sign of God being on Trump's side. Gtfo

I am not trying to make my Catholic friends, who I love, angry with this statement. But this entire episode is starting to explain to me why so many Americans were concerned about a Catholic president for so long. I have no interest in Rome trying to dictate American policy. And if it continues to loudly make its opinions heard on our foreign policy, I believe they’re going to find a lot of American Protestants feeling a lot less ecumenical than we have been in the more recent past.
