( I am not even going to share the disturbing video) . The full force of the law must be strictly enforced, and any attempt to resolve such grave criminal matters through informal local mechanisms, including intervention by elders, should not be tolerated. Acts of this nature demand formal judicial processes and uncompromising legal accountability. It is also widely acknowledged that some parents have brought their sons from the diaspora to Kenya in an effort to shield them from gang-related activities abroad. However, Kenya should not be regarded as a correctional facility. It is imperative that, as responsible Kenyans from the Somali community, individuals speak out against such conduct. The majority of those involved in these incidents are not even Kenyan citizens nevertheless the broader Somali community risks being unfairly stigmatized as a result of their actions hence I am now choosing to call them out. Furthermore, individuals who demonstrate a disregard for the rule of law in Kenya should face decisive consequences. This includes the imposition of long-term custodial sentences to reflect the severity of the crime and to act as a deterrent to others. Those who are not citizens and are unwilling to abide by Kenyan law should be required to leave the country. Similarly, individuals holding foreign citizenship, whether from the United Kingdom, the European Union, the United States, or Canada, should be expected to return to their respective countries if they fail to comply with the legal standards of Kenya.
