@joeduvall91 This shouldn’t be unpopular. Many sports, not just motorsports, do this. For many Olympic events, the top-ranked entrant wears 1. In the Tour de France, it’s the previous winner. Not only should the champ get the 1, no one else should. No 1A, no 1X. If you want the #1, earn it.

Unpopular opinion, previous year series champions should run the #1 for season.

@ripjetson9 That’s the same reason why I don’t like when we get the fella with the harmonica. I don’t mind the harmonica, but dislike his version of the song. It’s an unpopular opinion, but freestyling in the middle of performing our country’s song makes it about “me” rather than “us”
