Kind of crazy to have an upset in maybe the least competitive semifinal in the country. A 196.25 advancing?? Is that the lowest upset score ever??

@arv5518 Yeah, if you advance 2 at a time you have to do the snake seeding by 2s. Unfortunately thatโll mean the top 2 teams are always in the same meet and facing off possibly 4 straight times in the postseason is a little too much

Regionals if gymnastics was like other sports that cared about the highest seeds having the easiest matchups

I say every year that they should add a specialist session to nationals. 24 routines per event means you can take 12 AA and 12 specialists per event, so either top 3 from each regional or something fancier like 2 per regional plus next 4 by NQS

They really need to add more individual spots for nationals because Maggie Slife and Skyelar Kerico really should be going, they both had incredible days at regionals

Utah regional commentary is fine but very low energy, big contrast to the Penn State regional which had both more excitement and more insights

@SpreadsheetJky @NCAAGymTea It would've been asking a lot of her to to do the start value calculus and come up with it mid-routine, but it's part of the coaches job to have her practice switch ring to beat and to know when to use it (or some other option like redoing the series)

@NCAAGymTea Okay that makes sense. She did try to add some content but needing a C leap in a series on the fly is tough. Maybe she could have tacked on a beat jump on after the switch ring but that would have been asking a lot.

one time i had to score flash a 10 for a vault with a hop. i asked the judge if she wrote down the start value on accident and she got really annoyed with me. #speakingmytruth

@justsomeflips I do agree but Florida received a lot of gifts on bars too. Skye with that Higgins should be scoring no higher than 9.8

LSU is the clear winner but Florida should've been 2nd. OU counted 2 9.80s that had pretty huge mistakes and were just inexplicably high scores. The floor ones almost more than bars

@flaviasrings @theegymmdiaryy To be fair to them beam was the toughest scored event. If Helen Hu only gets a 9.925 no lineup is breaking 49.4 even if everyone has the routine of their life

9.8 start is right, she downgraded from D to C, so she for sure loses a tenth there and the other tenth is either the A+C connection not getting bonus or UTL. Did the others give her an โunderrotatedโ 2.5?!?!

I personally love that not every SEC team makes conference championships. The B1G should adopt this too.

They have to realize how they're screwing over Arkansas taking away the opportunity for an extra away score. They're in the last seeded regionals spot and could be fighting to keep it and instead they have to sit around and hope Michigan and Denver don't pass them

Jordan should really lay that vault out. Not only is her block more than good enough but at this point her tuck is so open it should be getting an insufficient tuck deduction, she never bends her hips or knees 90 degrees
