UK shouldn’t waste another minute recruiting him.
Not because he isn’t worth it, he’s going to be one of the better players in college basketball next year.
But if he’s adding another Nike school after a second UK visit, he may just not be that into you. At some point you have to look elsewhere.

Tyran Stokes shared Kentucky, Oregon, and Kansas on his Instagram story, highlighting them as his three schools. A source told ESPN that Oregon is seriously in the mix and that he’s closely watching whom these schools are signing in the portal before making his decision. Stokes is the No.1 prospect in the SC Next 100. @SCNext

Pope will get a lot of heat, and some of it, maybe even a lot of it is rightfully placed. However, the administration keeps telling fans and media to be quiet and stop asking questions about NIL, while the list of misses with elite players in the red zone continues to grow. Pope is good enough to get players to the finish line in recruitment, but UK keeps missing at the end. Whether it’s the lack of a GM, the NIL deal structure (which we keep hearing is an issue), or a combination of all of the above, the criticism of the staff and the administration when it comes to basketball NIL and recruitment is only going to get louder.

Truest post about Mark Pope and the UK fanbase I've see in a while. Way too many "media" types stirring things up. KSR gets poked for doing that but I'm amazed at how many "people with a podcast" are running bitching like mad and its all for attention.

Ansley Almonor was a virtual unknown transfer from FDU that started for Kentucky at the four when Andrew Carr missed time and played key minutes all year for a 3-seeded Kentucky team and was loved by the fans. The season isn’t over because Donnie Freeman went elsewhere. Get McBride and another 4 and you’ll be fine

I don't think the words exist to express how sick I am of the Pope-bashing UK fans. Last year was surprisingly good, this year was surprisingly bad. Stuff happens. Sit back and let the man work. We'll see what year 3 looks like. If we suck, then it's time for the AD to talk.

The silence from Pope is deafening. Sometimes leadership is also coming out and taking your humble pie.
The fans want to see you're leading the program and at times that means coming out and talking to the fans when things aren't going well. Or even perceived to not be going well.

As of right now Kentucky needs MM and Kam to get WAY better than they were last year and probably needs Hawthorne to be an NBA player. Also needs Noah to remember how to shoot.

The wild thing is reporters were pressing Pope on when he would hire a GM for weeks and he basically just shrugged it off.
This is UK basketball. There should’ve been a command center in Lexington scouting kids all season to prep for the portal. Instead we get this.
