@RoadPainter Yes, many of the higher-end hotels will be. But there are over 100k hotel rooms in Los Angeles (similar to Paris), but substantially more short term rental inventory.

@KenHanscom Usually much will be contracted to the IOC/locog to enable hospitality package builds. Once that demand dries up, we get to have a go! At least we don't have the MC26 issue of hotels disappearing to become Athletes Villages!

With the LA28 ticket drop happening, those who are traveling are naturally going to being wondering about hotel accommodations, AirBNBs, and other short term rental options. In general, now is not the time to be looking for them...

They have secured very nice accommodations for less than $100 / night and in some cases much lower. LA28 is likely to follow that same cycle although waiting last minute takes quite a discipline. Still, waiting until < 12 months before the event will save you and your wallet from frustrations.

The safest advice (and likely cost saving) is to wait until we are within the 12-month window for LA28. I have friends that travel to the Olympic Games, but only book their travel less than a month before the games where invariably prices fall...

For those still waiting for their LA28 ticket drop slot, there are currently 426 sessions still available across 25 different sports, plus the Closing Ceremony. Category availability varies by session.

We're a couple of hours away from the first LA28 Summer Olymnpic Games ticket drop and at the same time, at least two marketplaces will launch LA28 ticket resales, Stubhub and Gametime at the same time. These are not part of the LA28 verified resale that will launch in 2027...

Here’s what people do not want to hear: The first Olympic ticket drops are always limited and there are a lot of disappointments and only a fraction of tickets were sold. Trust me, as someone that LA28 will be my 6th Olympic Games, you are going to have MANY chances over the next two years. LA is the first time I had access to the first drop after skipping the Paris 2024!drop altogether.

@cheeseatnight Unknown demand. The LA28 games are more popular than expected. This isn’t a Taylor Swift tour with 30 stops. I do not think this was fully anticipated and you need to finding the balance between selling out and having tons unsold is not a simple math problem.

@KenHanscom What is the point of that, though? If the successive drops are less limited, why put all the Drop 1 people (non-locals) through such a poor experience??

And I ended attending 35 events in Paris include men’s basketball gold medal, women’s gymnastics all around and team gold medal games, Opening, Closing and many others that I bought through general sales and NOT hospitality.
