@Maraaaks How about that? On the yard... It used to be a beautiful birch tree next to this unfortunate residence. Yanked off for unknown reasons once...

Escape artist Harry Houdini locked up in chains about to take a 30 foot plunge off the Harvard Bridge into the Charles River in Boston, 1908... Houdini, born Erik Weisz in 1874, built his reputation on high-risk escape acts that combined physical endurance, technical skill, and precise timing. By the early 1900s, he was performing public stunts like this one to draw massive crowds and media attention, often inviting police to inspect the restraints to prove their authenticity. Water escapes were among his most dangerous acts. Cold temperatures, strong currents, and the risk of entanglement made even a small miscalculation potentially fatal. Houdini trained rigorously to control his breathing and remain calm under extreme pressure, allowing him to free himself in situations that appeared impossible. These performances helped establish him as one of the first global entertainment celebrities, with tours spanning the United States and Europe. Houdini often incorporated hidden keys and specialized lock-picking techniques, but he also relied heavily on flexibility and joint manipulation to slip restraints others couldn’t escape. © Colorized History #archaeohistories
