The Army Chief of Staff, a combat veteran with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, asked Pete Hegseth why he was blocking the promotions of two Black officers and two female officers who had earned them. Hegseth refused to answer. Then he fired him. Nine U.S. officials told NBC News that Hegseth has blocked or delayed promotions for more than a dozen Black and female senior officers across all four branches of the military. 🚨🚨🚨 CHINA JUST DESTROYED TRUMP'S ENTIRE HORMUZ ARGUMENT IN ONE SENTENCE 🚨🚨🚨
On April 2nd, China's FM spokesperson Mao Ning said this publicly, on record, in front of the world press:
"The root cause for disruption in Strait of Hormuz is illegal US-Israeli military operation against Iran."
One sentence. The whole thing unraveled.
Here is the full timeline so you understand exactly what happened:
Step 1 ✅ The Strait of Hormuz was OPEN. Ships moved freely. Oil flowed. $65/barrel.
Step 2 ✅ February 28, 2026. US and Israel launch "Operation Epic Fury." Iran's Supreme Leader killed. War begins.
Step 3 ✅ Iran retaliates. Hormuz starts closing. Ships get blocked. Chinese tankers pass freely. US ships cannot.
Step 4 ✅ March 28. Iran turns Hormuz into a toll road. Ships pay $5,000,000 per transit. Oil spikes $34 in 72 hours.
Step 5 ✅ Brent crude hits $109/barrel. US gas prices pass $4/gallon. 40 nations hold emergency meetings.
Step 6 ✅ Trump tells the world: countries that get oil through Hormuz should "take care of that passage." Cost to reopen: $2,000,000,000 a day.
Step 7 ✅ China responds publicly: "The root cause is your illegal military operation."
Do you understand what just happened?
The US started a war. The US caused the blockade. The US is now billing the world $2,000,000,000 a day to fix what the US broke.
And then China said all of this out loud. In front of the global press. On the record.
💀 The Strait was open before the US attacked. FACT.
💀 The Strait closed because of the US attack. FACT.
💀 The US is now charging to reopen it. FACT.
💀 Oil went from $65 to $109 because of US military action. FACT.

I was at the motor park on this same day last year when I saw a small boy of about 8 years old sitting on the ground. He was not begging. He was just holding a dirty, torn paper and a pencil, trying to write 1 + 1 = 2.
A woman selling food shouted at him to leave her front and even threw dirty water near his feet. The boy did not cry. He just moved quietly to sit under a leaking roof to continue his writing. My heart pained me. I went to give him money for food, but his eyes stopped me. He looked so hungry. I asked him why he was not in school.
He told me his mother died the previous year and his uncle brought him to the city to go to school. But since he arrived, he only washes cars and sweeps while his uncle’s children go to school. He showed me his back and I saw a big wound from a hot iron his uncle’s wife used on him because a plate broke while he was washing it. He ran away three days ago and was sleeping in the park, hoping to find a bus to his village even though he has nobody there.
I looked at my fine clothes and felt ashamed. I work as a secretary. I was on my way to work but I did not continue the journey. I held his hand and told him not to cry. I told him that from that day, he was not going back to that house and he was not going to the village. I have decided to adopt him as my own son.
Today makes exactly a year he has been with me. He has a new school bag and a clean uniform. He eats good food and nobody will ever burn him again. I remembered going through the same treatment many years ago, when my aunt brought me to Lagos to send me to school but instead she turned me into her house girl and treated me like trash before God sent a good Samaritan my way who helped sponsor my education. Today, I am the same person feeding and paying fees for her children ever since she and her husband passed away in an accident.
NB: I am not posting this to show off. I am sharing this to tell everyone to be kind to other people’s children. You don’t know who will help you tomorrow. No one knows tomorrow. 🙏🏾

Comp update: Kirk Cousins will sign a five-year, $172 million deal with the Raiders that in reality is a one-year, fully-guaranteed $20 million deal that also contains a club option for two years at $80M.
The Falcons will pay Cousins $8.7 million this season, the Raiders another $1.3 million and Las Vegas also agreed to pay its new QB a fully-guaranteed $10 million roster bonus on the third day of the 2027 new league year.
