The cast lineup—including Kim Seonho, Kim Yoon-seok, Ryu Kyung-soo, and Ahn Eun-jin—has been finalized, and they recently completed their first script reading. “May The Congressman Protect You” is based on a popular web novel of the same name. It tells the story of Gu Young-jin (played by Kim Yoon-seok), a powerful six-term National Assembly member who dies by suicide in 2008, becomes a ghost, and wakes up in 1998—10 years earlier. He then teams up with Cha Jae-rim (played by Kim Seonho), a 9th-grade civil servant, to take over the National Assembly in a “buddy” political operation. Kim Seonho plays Cha Jae-rim, a low-ranking civil servant who has the ability to see ghosts. After taking in the ghost of Gu Young-jin, he rises like a supernova in the political world and engages in a political showdown with the living version of Assemblyman Gu Young-jin. Kim Yoon-seok will portray Gu Young-jin, a once-powerful politician who falls from grace, dies, and returns as a ghost to 10 years in the past, where he meets Cha Jae-rim and rewrites his past. Ahn Eun-jin will make a special appearance as Gu Seung-hee, Gu Young-jin’s daughter.
