Just read the petition: hands down one of the poorest drafted petitions: factually incorrect, AI drafted, full of hallucinations, madeup rules and objections, and heavily reliant on inapplicable legal instruments. The fastest-finger-first petitions need to stop. Have some shame!
Live Law@LiveLawIndia

The petitioners argued that the right to self-identification of gender conferred by the 2014 NALSA judgment cannot be taken away by a statute. Read more: tinyurl.com/29x36g3e #SupremeCourt #Transgender

You "look good" because of your gene pool (caste, race), your nutrition status, your budget for your wardrobe and your cosmetic products, and your time and physical and mental health. None of it is an "achievement". Thank you for attending the seminar. [5/5]

It applies to marriages, applies to social settings, applies to interpersonal relations, and applies to careers. If you are contributing to this "hotness/unhotness" discourse, and then come back to criticise patriarchy/caste, maybe think twice- you are going in circles [4/5]

The entire idea of pretty privilege [or, its Hohfeldian jural correlative: "ugly no-right"] is not new. It has been an age-old tool of colonialism, patriarchy, caste, and class, to filter what would be desirable and what was supposed to be erased from public view. [1/5]

Wrote a little something for The Leaflet, about how the Supreme Court has missed the point in Chinthada Anand v. State of Andhra Pradesh. Kindly give it a read: theleaflet.in/equality/un-ca…
The Leaflet@TheLeaflet_in

Does conversion legally extinguish #ScheduledCaste status? Data from Ranganath Misra, Sachar Committee and Mandal Commission reports all testify that caste persists beyond the Hindu community. So what does the #SupremeCourt’s judgment in #ChinthadaAnand mean for millions of Dalit Christians and Muslims in India? @landbreadpeace examines ✍️: theleaflet.in/equality/un-ca…

Well said, comrade @akash_del06 Sending Indian workers to work in Israel cuz Palestinians aren't there to work is the 21st century version of गिरमिटिया मजदूरी (indentured labour): a "neo-indenture", if you may शायद गिरमिटिया मज़दूरी से भी मोदी जी का बहुत पुराना रिश्ता रहा होगा
Samruddha Bharat Foundation@SBFIndia

"... the entire alliance with the USA and Israel is basically favoring Indian corporations. Indian workers are being sent in hordes to work in Israel." ~ @akash_del06 (National Councilor, AICCTU) speaks at the launch of India's Tryst with the World.

Sometimes, I look at myself in the mirror, sleep-deprived, drowned in stimulants on the fourth night in a row, and am reminded of a Hindi idiom we read in school: "पढ़े फ़ारसी, बेचे तेल" Maybe, just maybe, learning Farsi was a mistake.

The financial barriers erected by paywalls disproportionately burden early academicians, underpaid RAs, and the lesser-endowed students, engaging in rent-seeking behaviour with both the producers and users of the said knowledge. @shaileebasu and I write for @IndianExpress
Shailee@shaileebasu

Our op-ed in @IndianExpress looks at the Delhi High Court’s recent injunction directing the blocking of Sci-Hub. We argue that Sci-Hub cannot be equated with a “rogue website.” Its use by students and researchers falls within the fair dealing protections of the Copyright Act, and it plays a crucial role in widening access to knowledge. By branding it as a “rogue website”, the HC risks shutting the door on marginalised students, early-career academics, and researchers who already face steep barriers to information. I was reluctant to make any comment on this for too long, but was suddenly reminded in the middle of the night that Baba used to say this about shameless people: "एकाम् लज्जाम् परित्यज्य, सर्वत्र विजयी भवेत्" [By losing one thing- your shame, you can be victorious everywhere.]

@prabhatkhabar Bringing to your notice that one of your Bureau Chiefs Kumar Ashish is, subsequent to the honour killing incident in DMCH, openly posting videos encouraging violent parental control in re: the marriage of adults, and further mocking the wife of the deceased. Shame!

Delegation of @cpimlliberation led by @Dipankar_cpiml, also visited the affected slums where the Bengali-speaking workers were living, to conduct fact-finding and speak with the people who were at the recieving end of the state-enabled exodus.

Guragon is in a crisis & it is not that your garbage isn't being taken out. Crisis is a xenophobic state-enabled mass exodus of the Bengali-speaking working classes. Please read the report by @AilajHq at ailaj.wordpress.com/2025/08/06/det…
Migrant Solidarity Network@msn_rights

AILAJ @AilajHq explains why the MHA guidelines that led to the recent brutal and highly discriminatory verification drive directed against Bangla speaking (mainly Muslim) migrant workers are ILLEGAL and UNCONSTITUTIONAL. ailaj.wordpress.com/2025/08/06/det…
