Anti-Muslim hatred has been totally normalised by some politicians in the UK.
On Friday there was a suspected anti-Muslim attack in Edinburgh where 5 people were injured - it’s barely caused any sort of outrage.
It’s a consequence of the normalisation of anti-Muslim hatred - I’ve written about the lack of response from politicians and the media for @zeteouk - where I spoke to some of the most senior politicians in Scotland about their concerns.

Piers, the IDF is operating in accordance with international law against Hezbollah, a terrorist organization that is hell-bent on killing Israelis. This again shows the ineffectiveness of President Trump‘s harsh words. He claimed here if the Iranian side closes the SOH, “you won’t have a country.” But they did close the SOH, and it has still not been reopened since, and they still have a country.
The more you make brash threats like this, and then don’t follow it up with action, any future attempt at coercion through words is mocked, and they literally laugh in your face.
Iran is very much clear on the military balance as it exists now, and is well aware that if President Trump does make good on his claim and does respond with military force, Iran has the capability to respond in an even stronger way, more harmful to our interests.
The Iranian side understands that; President Trump apparently does not.
