For 15 years, Canadians have overwhelmingly purchased large SUV’s and pickup trucks knowing the price of gas will always increase and be volatile. Maybe instead of subsiding that, we invest in public transit so people have the option to not drive everywhere for everything.

This felt different... We rode across Copenhagen, on a bridge made only for bikes... The Bicycle Snake. No noise. No stress. Just movement and a view you don’t usually get. And for a moment... everything felt… simple.

Paris makes 300 school streets traffic free. This is so obviously beneficial BUT POSSIBLE BECAUSE PARIS already has dense, walkable urbanism US cities will struggling with massive quality of life improvements like this as long as they prioritize low-density, car-oriented development
